A lovely Alpha 2 spec SX-70 manufactured in October, 1979.

The folding mechanism is smooth and snappy and the motor is strong with a clean & bright viewfinder. 

The film door had to be replaced due to the original not holding the film in place after ejecting a shot. We have replaced this with one from a donor Sonar unit, hence the slightly different colour and texture. The original alpha spec rubberised rollers were removed from the old door and attached to this new door.

    • have their internal taking mirrors checked and re-attached if necessary

    • have their mirrors and lenses carefully cleaned with Calotherm optical products

    • have any defective parts replaced with better quality ones

    • reconstructed and tested with film

    • re-skinned in brand new Aki Asahi leather from Japan
